Emily Cole is an alt-pop artist who has amazing songwriting skills and vocal talent. She has a long list of awards to prove it, but this kind of talent goes beyond awards, number of plays, or anything the music industry can conjure up. Emily is gifted and, at a young age, she sounds like an artist who has already arrived. Her talent is found her ability to share honest emotions that fans can relate to.
“Karma” has fantastic electronic effects, synth, heavy bass and a mesmerizing beat. The arrangement of the instrumentation and vocals develop gradually as the song creates multiple new and exciting layers. The intro starts with flute and keys, both vibrant and melodic, along with heavy bass, drumbeat, and electric vocals. Emily's vocals are perfect as she intensifies the harmony and melody, creating a hyper-reality as you listen. The production was very-well conceived by music producer Eddie Ferguson who is known for his collaboration with Beyonce's father.
This song is a reminder of 'what you reap, you will sow.'
“Why do plastic people with the fakest personalities always come back to haunt me, I don’t know, but, karma’s gonna get ya when ya least expect it.”
Karma” was a personal experience for Emily Cole. Like many of us, she encountered people who called themselves friends, but were not genuine. What stands out is Emily's vulnerability. She is willing to expose how she feels, even when it's not pretty or perfect or politically correct. And this is a good thing. Her song reveals hurt, anxiety, and the human desire for justice on some level. It might be more correct to wish those who do us harm all the happiness in the world, but Emily isn't concerned with crafting songs that preach. Emily keeps it real and her honesty draws us in because after-all, we are human too and we all experience those feelings of hurt and the desire for justice.
Emily Cole tells it like it is. Who wouldn't want a friend like that?! There's no doubt that fans of alt-pop will connect with Emily's music. She is a young artist who has achieved so much and will continue to rise to the top. Her song "Karma" is just one example of her creative genius, authentic voice, and mass appeal.
